Maybe it was the third grade when I was instructed to write my first short story that the dream of writing was born. I still have it somewhere. It’s called The Murderer–a “whodoneit” courtroom drama that seemed to keep unfolding on page after page of looseleaf paper.
After years of studying, I started as a freelance writer, eventually becoming editor of a group of weekly newspapers. Next, I was lead next to work as a content strategist for an up-and-coming creative agency. It wasn’t enough, and I became restless again.
I couldn’t let go of my dream of not only becoming a novelist but having my own publishing company in Louisiana.
<–– How about the angle on that handwriting though?
As founder of Make It Write, I’m now able to help others tell their stories by using the certified copy editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills I’ve learned. I may also help with getting the word out about your book or your business.
You may need some assistance in publishing a blog on your website, or getting a press release published in the local newspaper, or writing and designing some social media posts. You’re in the right place! You may even be looking for help publishing your first novel.
As an editor, I have worn many different hats. As a result, I have picked up many useful things along the way.
